Honeywell will provide the avionics, safety suite and auxiliary power units for 75 Airbus A320, 12 Airbus A330 family aircraft and 31 Boeing B737 aircraft for AWAS, an aircraft leasing company.

The avionics suite will include IntuVue, Honeywell’s 3D volumetric weather radar that helps avoid bad weather, wind shears and turbulence.

The suite also features the 131-9A APU for the Airbus A320 aircraft, a small gas-powered turbine that provides bleed air for main engine starting and electrical power for cockpit and galley systems thus reducing fuel consumption emissions and costs.

Honeywell will further provide Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System, Airborne Collision Avoidance System with ADS-B and Mode S and Quantum Line of Communication and Navigation equipment.

The deliveries for the A330 are expected to start in 2009, and in 2011 for the A320 and B737.

AWAS is an aircraft leasing company serving markets in the US, Europe, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
