A fleet of 12 in-service A320 aircraft owned by Condor will be retrofitted with new enhanced cabins by Airbus.

Condor customer services executive vice president Charles Champion said that the innovative retrofit would offer Condor a competitive edge in a challenging market.

The new cabin retrofit will provide 10% more stowage volume for overhead baggage, more shoulder-level room for passengers and a weight reduction of the aircraft.

Cabin intercommunication data system and a new in-flight entertainment system including audio and video services will also be installed on all the planes.

The first installations are expected in the last quarter of 2009.
