Textron Aviation has awarded a contract to Triumph Group for the manufacture and supply of aluminium spare parts and wing skins for the new Cessna Citation Longitude super-midsize business jet.

The machined parts will be manufactured by Triumph Precision Components in Wichita, Kansas, US.

Iridium Communications has signed a contract with SpaceX to launch five new Iridium NEXT satellites into space.

The satellites are scheduled to be launched from the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, US, in early-2018.

EaglePicher Corporation has been selected by Orbital ATK to produce a battery for the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS)-2 spacecraft.

To be produced by EaglePicher in partnership with GS Yuasa Lithium Power, the battery will be equipped with Gen III LSE134 lithium-ion cells produced by GS Yuasa Technology.

German airline Lufthansa has selected SelectCare services from Rolls-Royce for Trent 500 engines to power the A340 jet airliner.

SelectCare will provide customers with Rolls-Royce’s OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and aftermarket services.

Airbus has awarded a contract to Ducommun Incorporated to manufacture additional titanium engine support structures for A320neo single-aisle aircraft.

Under the contract, Ducommun will produce titanium structures for engine support and engine frames using hot forming and super-plastic forming processes.
