GKN Aerospace has signed a new multi-year agreement to provide electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS) for the Boeing 777X family of aircraft.

With this agreement, the manufacturer expands its portfolio of Boeing EWIS products.

Production under the contract will commence in 2024.

Delivery of the systems will be carried out from across the company’s several locations, including Langfang, China, as well as the advanced wiring facility in Pune, India.

The company has been supplying EWIS to multiple Boeing aircraft platforms for more than two decades.

GKN Aerospace civil airframes president John Pritchard said: “GKN Aerospace is very proud to have been producing EWIS for Boeing aircraft for many years.

“This new contract demonstrates our continued commitment to quality, on-time delivery and customer focus, and it is a significant addition to our extensive portfolio.

“This success builds upon our partnership over the years and we are delighted to strengthen and expand our business relationship with Boeing Commercial Airplanes.”

GKN Aerospace has 15,000 employees in 48 manufacturing locations in 14 countries around the world.

In February 2020, GKN Fokker Elmo received a contract to supply EWIS for the new Boeing 777X family.

The company started production of 777X EWIS by the end of Q1 2020 to be delivered from various locations, including China, the Netherlands, and India.
