International Aero Engines (IAE) will provide its V2500 engines to power 20 Turkish Airlines A320 family aircraft.

The 22,000lb-33,000lb-thrust V2500 delivers an additional 1% fuel burn advantage, along with a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions.

The engine improves time-on-wing by up to 20% and will be compliant with the most stringent CAEP/6 NOx standards.

The $500m deal includes firm orders for 20 aircraft with options for another ten planes.

The order comprises engines for six A319s and 14 A321s that will be used to facilitate growth in the Turkish Airlines network.

The A320s are expected to be delivered between 2011 and 2013.
