Airbus has delivered an A320 aircraft to Lufthansa.

The A320 single-aisle aircraft family includes the A318, A319, A320 and A321 airliners, which can seat up to 185 passengers and travel up to 2,350nm at a speed of Mach 0.82.

The new aircraft becomes the 100th A320 aircraft to join the Lufthansa fleet.

Airbus chief operating officer (customers) John Leahy said the A320 programme would be strengthened through constant improvements in aerodynamics, weight reduction, operational efficiencies and increased cabin comfort.

At present, the airline operates more than 170 Airbus aircraft, including aircraft from the A340, A330 and A320 families.
