An Argentinean airline, Austral Líneas Aéreas has bought 20 Embraer 190 jets to increase frequency on domestic routes.

The 190s belong to the advanced range model that flies up to 2,400nm and has a dual-class 96-seat configuration. It also features onboard entertainment system with individual monitors for passengers.

The jet will enable the airline to fly on longer routes without a break and may also open up new markets for it.

The delivery of the jets is expected to begin from the first semester of 2010.

Embraer has also signed a separate memorandum of understanding with the Argentinean Government for supplying services and parts for Embraer aircraft in the future.
