US-based rocket engine and spaceflight development company XCOR Aerospace has completed the acquisition of all operational subsidiaries of Space Expedition Corporation (SXC) for an undisclosed amount.

SXC previously served as XCOR’s general sales agent for XCOR Lynx flight sales, as well as its lead wet lease customer.

Following the acquisition, SXC will become new sales entity XCOR Space Expeditions and will focus on sales, commercial partnerships and participant (customer) training on a global level, along with acting as an open sales channel available for all future XCOR Lynx wet lease clients.

"SXC will become new sales entity XCOR Space Expeditions and will focus on sales, commercial partnerships and customer training on a global level."

Speaking about the deal, XCOR CEO Jeff Greason said: "As XCOR Space Expeditions, we look forward to making the most of their expertise and insights with customers and commercial partners. With their sales and marketing engine now a part of the XCOR brand, we deepen the connection between customers and Lynx."

According to XCOR, the acquisition is part of its commitment to being the most active space flight company worldwide through a marked increase in integrated sales activities and multiple wet lease operations.

The latest all-stock transaction was reviewed by the US Treasury Department’s Committee on Foreign Investment in the US (CFIUS).

XCOR Aerospace is currently planning a research and development centre in Midland, Texas, in addition to plans to establish an operational and manufacturing site at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida with the assistance of Space Florida.
