IAE International Aero Engines has secured a $400m contract from China Eastern Airlines to supply V2500 engines to power a new fleet of 50 Airbus A320-family aircraft.

In addition, the contract also includes a long-term IAE engine maintenance agreement.

The V2500 is available in seven different thrust settings, ranging from 22,000lb to 33,000lb to power the Airbus A319, A320 and A321 family of aircraft as well as the A319 corporate jet.

The V2500 engines are expected to be delivered from August 2012 until 2015.

International Aero Engines is a consortium comprising Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce, Aero Engines and MTU Aero Engines.
