DART Aerospace and Pall Aerospace are working with two commercial helicopter operators in Canada to complete flight testing of their air protection system, PA100 PUREair system for falling and blowing snow conditions during the 2015-2016 period.

This system is currently certified for use on Airbus H125, AS350 and H130 (EC130B4 and EC130T2) helicopters.

Helicopters operated by Mustang Helicopters in western Canada and an East Coast operator will undertake flight testing under this weather condition.

Exact weather conditions are required to conduct final testing in order to eliminate the restriction on the supplementary type certificate (STC) for the air protection system.

"PA100 was tested and secured approval for exposure to blowing and recirculating snow while taking off and landing the plane."

Testing of PA100 PUREair system, which was co-developed by Pall Aerospace and DART Aerospace, will meet both TCCA CAR 27 and FAA FAR 27 snow protection certification requirements.

PA100 was tested and secured approval for exposure to blowing and recirculating snow while taking off and landing the plane.

The PA100 PUREair system is a redesigned and retested version that is claimed to be low-maintenance, unlike other air filtration systems.

This is the fourth generation of the air filtration system and has been incorporated with the latest advances of Pall Aerospace technology, which includes an optimised system design, 3D computational fluid dynamics and nano-material technologies for improved engine protection even when operating under harsh weather conditions.

DART Aerospace provides solutions for the helicopter and aerospace industry. It has a range of more than 700 STCs and 5,000 products and offers aftermarket products, accessories, spare parts and tools for civil and military operators.
