A321 ANA

Japan-based All Nippon Airways has finalised a firm order with Airbus for seven A321 aircraft, including four A321ceo with Sharklets and three A321neo.

The carrier signed the aircraft agreement in January this year.

With this order, ANA will have 37 A320 family aircraft on order with Airbus, including 26 A321neo, four A321ceo with Sharklet and seven A320neo.

According to Airbus, ANA will become the first carrier in Japan to operate A320’s three variants: A321neo, A321ceo and A320neo.

A321neo will be designed to accommodate up to 240 passengers, while the A321ceo and A320neo will seat 220 and 180 people respectively. The aircraft will have optimised cabin space called ‘Cabin-Flex’.

Airbus conducted the A320neo maiden flight in September 2014, and is currently carrying out flight test campaign.

The A320neo is equipped with new-generation engines and Sharklet wing tip devices, which are claimed to offer more than 15% fuel efficiency.

The A320 family of airliners have reached more than 11,500 orders to date, and are said to have the widest cabins and best level of comfort in all classes with Airbus’ 18in-wide seats in economy.
