Mtag Composites provides the aerospace industry with phenolic and polyester fibreglass, reinforced mouldings, as well as painting and restoration solutions for composite glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) panels.

Painted phenolic GRPh components and mouldings for the aerospace industry

Mtag manufactures painted phenolic GRPh components for airlines such as Bombardier. The majority of these mouldings are painted, fixed, packed, and then dispatched to companies in the UK and abroad.

Mtag also produces a wide range of other commercial aircraft products, including seat backs.

Phenolic compounds are selected for their fire performance qualities, while they meet BS476 parts six and seven, as well as BS6853: toxic fume and smoke density standards.

We prepare these phenolic mouldings using vacuum infusion and bagging, in addition to wet lay-up methods. We also construct phenolic toilet module mouldings.

At Mtag, we offer complete pattern and mould-building services to deliver our clients with a one-stop-shop, while all our mould tools are built in-house to ensure product consistency.

We supply full assembly services, which include fitting / bonding of frames and electrical products.

Repairs and refurbishment of interior and exterior aircraft panels

Mtag has hands-on experience in all types of glass-reinforced plastics and is able to carry out many repair and renovation projects, on-site or at its factory.

This includes repainting interior and exterior aircraft panels in solvent or water-based systems such as Trimite, Du Pont, or Mankiewicz.

We also provide free on-site inspections and quotations.

Phenolic and polyester GRP and aluminium steel painting solutions

Our professional painting division provides an exceptional service, specialising in low-smoke, no-burn paints, and working to specific gloss levels.

The scale of our experience ranges from new work, to repainting and overhaul of paintwork.

The team works with a vast range of materials, including phenolic GRP, aluminium steel, and polyester GRP. When painting, we use a large-volume oven with high air exchange.
