Gulfstream Aerospace’s G600 aircraft to make Australian debut

General Dynamics’ wholly owned subsidiary Gulfstream Aerospace is set to put its newest aircraft, Gulfstream G600, on static display for the Australian market later this month.

The aircraft will make its Australian debut at the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition scheduled to take place between 26 February and 3 March in Geelong, Victoria.

Apart from the G600, the Gulfstream G550 and Gulfstream G650ER aircraft will be on display at the airshow.

Gulfstream Aerospace president Mark Burns said: “The Asia-Pacific region continues to be one of our strongest international markets, demonstrated by tremendous regional fleet growth in the past decade. We are particularly excited to showcase our newest aircraft, the award-winning, clean-sheet Gulfstream G600, as part of its Australian debut.

“We’ve been showcasing the G600 around the world, and customer feedback and interest for this all-new aircraft have been extremely positive. Our Australian static display represents best-in-class aircraft that provide the range, speed and payload capacity necessary for customers to operate with ease in the region.”

More than 335 Gulfstream aircraft are operational in the Asia-Pacific, over 290 units of which are large-cabin.

The G600 aircraft is designed to fly 5,500nm at its high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90. The aircraft’s interior has the capacity to accommodate up to 19 passengers. It also supports configuration into three living areas and crew rest.

It also features 14 Gulfstream panoramic oval windows and a low-cabin altitude.

Gulfstream also noted that the aircraft is equipped with Symmetry Flight Deck.

Meanwhile, the G650ER offers connectivity between Los Angeles to Melbourne in less time, the company added.
