Japan-based SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation has selected Arianespace to provide launch services for its JCSAT-17 telecommunications satellite.

The JCSAT-17 satellite is scheduled for launch in 2019 aboard Ariane 5 rocket from Guiana Space Center, French Guiana.

Airbus has agreed to provide support for the development of China Airlines’ maintenance, engineering and technical training capabilities in Taiwan under a memorandum of understanding.

The deal will also help improve China Airlines’ maintenance capabilities for its Airbus fleet.

South Korean airline Jeju Air has placed a $300m order with Boeing for three next-generation 737-800 aircraft.

Joining the existing fleet of 26 next-generation 737-800 planes, the new aircraft will allow the low-cost carrier to strengthen its presence in Asia.

The UAE Space Agency and American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) have signed a deal to strengthen UAE’s space science capabilities.

Under the memorandum of understanding, the parties will focus on areas such as space science, technology, research and education.

L3 Technologies division L3 Commercial Training Solutions has announced its plans to work with the UK’s Surrey County Council to set up an airline training centre and production facility in 2018.

Scheduled to be operational by next year, the L3 London Training Center will produce aircraft simulators with a workforce of approximately 300 people.
