US regional carrier Mesaba Airlines will receive avionics service and support for its fleet of 41 CRJ900 and 19 CRJ200 aircraft from Rockwell Collins.

The 16-year dispatch contract includes avionics component repairs and inventory that is pre-positioned at multiple service locations. The contract also provides spares ownership, component repairs, logistical support and reliability upgrades.

Mesaba Airlines technical operations vice-president Bill Donohue said that the partnership with Rockwell Collins will be instrumental to the airline as it looks to maintain its performance metrics with the spare programme.

The dispatch agreement will also enable Mesaba to manage its available seat mile cost by consolidating asset inventory and component repairs in a price-per-flight hour agreement with turnaround times and availability of assets.
