Honda Aircraft is installing the first HondaJet flight simulator in Greensboro, North Carolina, US.

Developed in partnership with FlightSafety International, the Level D simulator is being installed at the HondaJet Training Center at the company’s headquarters.

Honda Aircraft president Michimasa Fujino said: "Pilot training is an important factor for safety, and we are putting significant effort and investment into flight training for all of our customers.

"The HondaJet flight simulator will be an invaluable training tool in preparing pilots to operate the world’s most advanced light jet.

"It is part of a customised training programme that will use the latest technologies to create a learning experience that is engaging and real to life."

"The training device incorporates advanced software to imitate flight conditions of an aircraft, and assist in preparing and qualifying pilots using various scenarios to safely operate the aircraft."

HondaJet flight simulator was assembled at FlightSafety’s manufacturing plant in Oklahoma, US.

The training device incorporates advanced software to imitate flight conditions of an aircraft, and assist in preparing and qualifying pilots using various scenarios to safely operate the aircraft.

The simulator is said to comply with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) standards. The company said that HondaJet and its flight deck offer simple operation with high-level of safety.

Powered by GE Honda HF120 turbofan jet engines, the HondaJet is a light business jet with over-the-wing engine mount (OTWEM) configuration, which is claimed to offer enhanced performance and fuel efficiency by reducing aerodynamic drag.

The aircraft features Honda-customised Garmin G3000 all-glass avionics system comprising of three 14in landscape-format displays and dual touch-screen controllers.

FlightSafety is an aviation training organisation and supplies flight simulators. The company is said to operate the largest fleet of full-flight simulators, and provides more than one million hours of instruction to pilots, technicians and aviation professionals every year.
