Harbin Hafei Airbus Composite Manufacturing Centre has awarded a $26m component supply contract to Triumph Group.

As part of the deal, the contractor will produce and supply 700 shipsets of rudder component kits for the Airbus A350 XWB jet aircraft.

The composite structures for rudders will be manufactured at Triumph Precision Components’ Composites Center of Excellence site in Thailand.

Kaman Aerosystems has received an order from US-based ROTAK Helicopter Services for the supply of two K-MAX single-engine medium-lift helicopters.

Scheduled to be delivered last year, the new K-MAX helicopters will allow ROTAK’s customers to perform cargo load operations with increased payload of 2,722kg.

American 3D printing firm Stratasys and Singapore-based SIA Engineering Company have signed a memorandum of understanding to offer 3D printed production parts for commercial aircraft.

The companies plan to set up an additive manufacturing service centre in Singapore to provide design, engineering and production services to SIAEC’s customers, as part of the deal.

Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) has received a launch services contract from satellite communications firm Global-IP Cayman.

SpaceX will provide launch services for the Boeing-built GiSAT-1 communication satellite aboard a Falcon 9 rocket next year, as part of the deal.

Iran Aseman Airlines has placed a $3bn order with Boeing for 30 new 737 MAX narrow-body jets, with purchase rights for an additional 30 737 MAX aircraft.

The new aircraft are expected to be delivered from 2022.

The transaction is subject to necessary approvals by the US Government.
