Let L-410 NG

Czech Republic-based Aircraft Industries has unveiled a prototype version of the Let L-410 next-generation (NG) turboprop aircraft.

The Let L-410 NG will have the features of L-410UVP-E20 aircraft and will incorporate advanced avionics and production technologies. It will have maximal cruise speed of 417km/h.

Powered by GE H85 engines, the Let L-410 NG will have a new wing structure, integral fuel tank and increased fuel capacity to support maximum range of 2,500km and ten-hour endurance.

The engine gearbox is claimed to reduce external and internal noise due to reduced propeller speed of 1,950 revolutions per minute (RPM).

Aircraft Industries intends to conduct the first flight and complete certification of the prototype soon with plans to start production in 2017."

The all-metal twin turboprop is designed to accommodate 19 passengers with maximum payload of 2,154kg and larger front luggage compartment, which can carry up to 400kg additional luggage / cargo, the company said.

Other features include glass cockpit technology with advanced Garmin (G3000) avionics, which offers high-level flight safety and comfort for the crew.

The aircraft will offer modernised passenger cabin interior and passenger seats, and can be configured for various operations, including maritime patrol and surveillance, the company said.

Aircraft Industries intends to conduct the first flight and complete certification of the prototype soon with plans to start production in 2017. The company expects to produce around 30 L 410 NG aircraft a year.

The standard version of L 410 NG will be ideal for use on short-haul transport routes by airlines, as well as governmental and non-governmental organisations.
