Honeywell has collaborated with AT&T to develop internet of things (IoT) technology for aircraft and freight solutions.

The partnership will work towards the successful deployment of Connected Freight and Connected Aircraft solutions of Honeywell. The technologies will be integrated with AT&T’s IoT solutions.

Honeywell’s Connected Freight solution provides location information of the shipments while in transit. The Connected Aircraft solution provides key information to flight crew and maintenance teams.

The collaboration intends to provide services to enhance the passenger experience, flight operations, fleet management and safety.

Viasat has agreed to extend its existing partnership with Honeywell to offer uninterrupted Ka-band in-flight internet services to business jet customers.

The Ka-band service will support virtual private networks (VPN), live TV and video calls throughout the flight.

Aircraft equipped with dual-band Ka-band / Ku-band shipset can avail the service.

Zunum Aero has chosen US-based private jet operator JetSuite to be the launch customer of its hybrid-electric plane.

JetSuite is expected to take delivery of the first hybrid-electric plane in 2022. It intends to order up to 100 aircraft, under the agreement.

The aircraft will have a maximum passenger capacity of 12 and is expected to offer emission-free travel.

American firm Spirit AeroSystems intends to raise $700m through a public offering of senior notes.

Issued at a price of 99.846% of the principal amount, the notes yield an interest rate of 4.6% payable semi-annually until they mature in 2028.

Spirit AeroSystems also plans to raise $300m through the offering senior notes. The notes pay a semi-annual interest rate of 3.95% until they mature in June 2023.
