US filtration solution provider Pall Aerospace has signed a deal to supply PUREair dry barrier filters to Marenco Swisshelicopter for its new SKYe SH09 helicopters.

Introduced at Helitech international exhibition last year, the Pall PUREair dry barrier filters are claimed to provide high-quality inlet protection barrier filtration for helicopters.

The filters are made of strong synthetic media that can be cleaned with tap water, and Pal Aerospace said that no detergent or oil is required.

According to Pall Aerospace, the synthetic media used in PUREair dry barrier filters can remove heavy wire mesh support structure from the filter. The lightweight filters are said to offer good performance and durability with little corrosion.

Last August, Danaher acquired Pall for $13.8bn.

Pall provides filtration, separation and purification solutions to life sciences and industrial manufacturing sectors.

Marenco Swisshelicopter is a subsidiary of Marenco, founded in 2007 to develop, build and commercialise new concepts of light turbine helicopters.

The SKYe SH09 helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 2,650kg and can seat eight people, including the pilot.

It has a cruise speed of 260km/h and can fly more than 800km with standard fuel tanks.
