Leonardo-Finmeccanica has selected Textron Aviation subsidiary Able Aerospace Services as an approved supplier for maintenance, repairs, overhaul (MRO) and testing for AgustaWestland products’ components.

AgustaWestland is a helicopter design and manufacturing company and fully owned subsidiary of Leonardo-Finmeccanica.

Under the deal, Able has become an official member of Leonardo Helicopters’ global service network.

Services under the newly signed agreement cover a variety of special processing and testing, all of which Able performs in-house.

The company provides FAA approved component repair, overhaul and approved replacement parts solutions to both commercial and military aviation fleets in more than 60 countries worldwide.

The services include in-house capabilities such as electroplating, chemical processing, machining, grinding, NDT testing, hydraulics, bearings services, and painting.

In March, Bell Helicopter selected Able Aerospace Services as its new service centre.

With the deal, Bell Helicopter aims to provide strategic, safe and reliable solutions to its existing and future customers.
