EMTEQ FAA, VSTC Approvals for B737 Interior Modifications

EMTEQ, under contract from Tombo Aviation, now Mitsui Aerospace Company, completed aircraft modifications for China Southern Airlines B737s.

The project transformed the interiors of three older aircraft to match Boeing's current 737 line, including exterior painting. EMTEQ was involved in aspects of design, manufacture and certification for the following systems: Dual HF, SELCAL, Audio Selector Panel, Overwater Equipment, Airborne Data Loader, Service Interphone, Auto Switch Taxi Light Retraction, interior seat layout, No Smoking modifications and exterior paint designs.

Luci Kluth, Project Manager, had this to say about the project, "There were many unique complexities to this project, which only strengthened EMTEQ's design, kit building and program management capabilities. We look forward to more opportunities such as these multi-faceted aircraft modification programs."

EMTEQ kit components included: wiring, connectors, metal fabricated assemblies, placards in English and Chinese, life vests, life rafts and fire extinguishers. The initial Installation was completed in spring at San Antonio Aerospace in San Antonio, TX.
