Boeing Super Hornet partner GE Aviation has signed memorandum of understandings (MOUs) with several Brazilian aerospace companies to become potential suppliers for the company’s global supply chain.

Specifically, the deal will help strengthen the domestic component of Boeing’s F/A-18 offering for the Brazilian F-X2 fighter jet competition.

“Brazil continues to further establish its global presence within the aerospace industry, providing opportunities to support and strengthen operations for Boeing and our Super Hornet industry partners, such as GE Aviation.”

MOUs signed with Grauna Aerospace SA, Increase Aviation Service Ltda, TAP Maintenance and Engineering and AKAER will offer local expertise in aircraft maintenance, manufacturing and engineering.

The programmes will include technology transfer deals, training in maintenance and assembly, as well as engine inspection and testing.

Boeing International Strategic Partnerships director Susan Colegrove said that by establishing strong, long-term business relationships with Brazilian companies, Boeing and its partners could provide customers with a variety of solutions.

"Brazil continues to further establish its global presence within the aerospace industry, providing opportunities to support and strengthen operations for Boeing and our Super Hornet industry partners, such as GE Aviation," said Colegrave.

The latest MOUs are in addition to the recent renewals of MOUs with Brazilian companies Avio do Brazil and GESPI Aeronautics
