Bombardier has received orders worth $3.06bn for 40 CS300 jetliners from Republic Airways.

The contract includes options for 40 additional aircraft that will bring the total value of the contract to $6.34bn if all options are exercised by the carrier.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engine, the longer-range, single-aisle aircraft will seat 100-149 people on a 500nm flight.

CSeries aircraft are currently in the design phase and are expected to deliver a 20% fuel burn advantage and a 20% reduction in CO2 emissions.

The aircraft will provide Republic Airways with cost advantages, and aid in its future growth and development plans.

The CSeries is expected to enter into service in 2013.
