Boeing delivered 481 commercial airplanes in 2009, meeting the company guidance of 480-485 airplanes, with 737s accounting for majority of the deliveries.

The aerospace firm has recorded 263 gross orders and 142 net orders for the year, and has a backlog of 3,375 aircraft, according to a Boeing statement.

The 737 saw the most deliveries among the Boeing fleet at 372 followed by 30 deliveries of the 777.

Boeing will provide 2010 commercial airplane delivery guidance after releasing the year-end earning later this month.
