Delivery delays for the Airbus A380 Super Jumbo jet will affect Emirates Airlines’ route expansion plans, according to the airline’s president Tim Clark.

Emirates has ordered 58 A380s that were to be delivered by mid-2010 and is the largest customer for the aircraft model.

Clark was quoted by Reuters as saying that the airline should have had 15 jets by June 2010. However, it will be getting two in December and then the remaining eight between January and November next year, so one or two are being pushed back.

The delays will be discussed with Airbus at an upcoming air show in the Gulf Arab emirate.
