Goodrich has opened a new maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility in Brazil in the TAM Technological Condominium.

The ‘Goodrich do Brasil’ facility will initially repair International Aero Engine (IAE) V2500-A5 engine inlets, fan cowls and thrust reversers for customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In near future, it will add capabilities to service other nacelle platforms currently operating in the region.

The 10,000ft² facility will provide access to a pool of rotable assets apart from maintenance, repair and overhaul services to local customers.

Goodrich do Brasil will serve as an interim location for a 40,000ft² permanent facility adjacent to TAM’s heavy maintenance facility in Sao Carlos, which will be renovated by Goodrich in 2010.
