Two Airbus A318 aircraft with ‘steep approach’ capability for British Airways have begun operating long-haul flights between London City Airport and New York’s JFK International Airport.

The A318 can fly up to 1,450nm at a cruise speed of M0.82 transporting up to 107 passengers.

The aircraft are configured with 32 seats that convert into fully-flat beds and on-board connectivity provided by OnAir.

The new route has been designated BA001, which was previously used for transatlantic Concorde flights.
