Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) will upgrade a Raytheon Airline Aviation Services (RAAS) Beechcraft 1900D demonstrator with a Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 integrated display system (IDS).

The HBS IDS upgrade will replace legacy avionics equipment with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 video-capable adaptive flight displays, dual attitude heading reference systems and an electronic engine indication system.

The RAAS demonstrator will be also be upgraded with a Rockwell Collins integrated flight information system, a model 850 weather radar, dual air data computers, dual APS-65 autopilots, a Rockwell Collins TCAS II 4000 and dual Garmin model GNS-400 WAAS enabled navigators.

Hawker Beechcraft global customer service and support vice-president Christi Tannahill said that the company expects the improved reliability and operating cost benefits of this upgrade to positively impact the bottom line of 1900D operators worldwide for many years to come.

RAAS specialises in marketing Beechcraft 1900 aircraft to regional airline, freight and corporate operators and will feature the HBS IDS upgrade in its world-tour demonstration aircraft after installation in 2010.
