Global defence and aerospace company BAE Systems has relocated Space Coast Operations from Satellite Beach in Florida, US, to Melbourne in Australia.

The Melbourne facility provides more office space to support BAE Systems’s growing business and expanding customer base.

The new facility specialises in technical support for unmanned aircraft systems and treaty monitoring, programme management and integrated logistics support for military and government agencies worldwide, engineering services for telecommunications and information technology.

Patrick Air Force Base, Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and Nasa’s Kennedy Space Center are some of the major customers served by BAE Systems.

Space Coast Operations has 80 employees, and BAE expects to hire an additional 40 network design engineers and installation technicians over the next year to support local and global customers.
