Dassault Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft are to receive cockpit upgrades, including flat-panel cockpit displays, from Innovative Solutions & Support.

Dassault Falcon is developing a supplemental type certificate (STC) for Falcon 2000 and 2000EX operators with original flight deck displays, which will enable upgrades to a set of four flat panel LCD displays.

The STC will allow for a paperless cockpit by offering E-Charts with a Jeppesen data subscription, moving maps and XM satellite weather.

The LCD displays suites are fully integrated units that will provide weight and power savings over CRT units.

The original aircraft wiring will be retained in the upgrade along with the displays’ existing interface within the existing control panel.

Dassault Falcon service engineering director Geoff Chick said the STC would benefit Falcon 2000 and Falcon 2000EX non-EASy operators by bringing a new suite of features that substantially increase situational awareness and safety with comparatively little downtime.

An IS&S company spokesman said these upgrades would make the resale of these aircraft far more attractive when the user decided to upgrade to a new aircraft in the future.
