The Light Helicopter Turbine Engine Company (LHTEC), a 50:50 joint venture between Honeywell and Rolls-Royce, has signed a contract with Aerospace Products International (API) to distribute CTS1800 engine spare parts.

The CTS800 family of helicopter engines can provide up to 1,700shp of power. The engines are characterised by low engine removal rates, hot and high performance and maritime capabilities with reduced fuel flows.

The engine has been selected and produced for the Super Lynx 300, AW159 Wildcat, mk9A helicopter programmes.

The engine has also been chosen for use for a Japanese ShinMaywa US-2 amphibian aircraft, for Sikorsky X2 high-speed technology development rotorcraft and AW T129 Turkish ATAK helicopter programme.

The ten-year contract further extends the period of API’s present aftermarket supply chain management services to LHTEC, including demand forecasting, spare parts inventory planning, warehousing, distribution, and international traffic in arms regulations compliance administration.

API will also be responsible for customer credit and receivables management under the agreement.
