New Russian airline Rosavia has requested proposals from Airbus, Boeing and Irkut for up to 65 aircraft to form a part of its initial fleet.

Rosavia’s initial fleet acquisition plans include 50 narrow-aisle aircraft with options for purchasing 15 additional jet to replace 200 obsolete jets owned by the airlines.

The total contract will amount to about $2.6bn at the estimated sum of $40m for each craft.

The proposals are due for submission by 17 October 2009.

Rosavia hopes to sign a contract for the narrow-aisle planes before the end of the year after examining the companies’ proposals.

Deliveries will take place between 2010 and 2016.
