Rolls-Royce is planning to build a new wide-chord fan blade (WCFB) factory in Singapore at the group’s Seletar Campus alongside its Trent aero engine test and assembly facility.

The new facility will be the first outside the UK to manufacture Rolls-Royce hollow titanium WCFBs, used for the Trent engine family.

The Singapore factory will also provide additional capacity to Rolls-Royce’s Barnoldswick factory in the UK which will also be receiving further investment.

The investment on the Seletar Campus including that on the WCFB factory will be about £300m. The campus will receive support from the Singapore economic development board (EDB).
