Airbus has given a contract to Morgan Ashurst to build a new wing assembly plant at Airbus’ Broughton factory in north-east Wales.

The £71m factory will be used to assemble carbon-fibre wings on Airbus aircrafts.

The construction company will work with its sister company Morgan Professional Services to deliver the 53,000m2 facility.

The facility will be sustainable and energy-efficient and capable of meeting the Airbus’ current and future production needs, the Daily Post reports, quoting a senior official from Morgan Ashurst.

The A350 will be the first jet to be fitted with the wings at the new assembly plant.
