Raytheon and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) have developed an improved capability to disseminate imagery quickly from US commercial satellite companies to warfighters and intelligence analysts across the globe.

As part of the NGA’s NextView programme, which provides imagery from US commercial satellite companies, the new enhanced information processing and dissemination capabilities can distribute greater amounts of commercial satellite imagery to users on a daily basis.

NGA director Robert Murrett said that the improved dissemination of imagery acquired by the commercial sources will provide a way to add and back up the existing national capabilities.

Raytheon will also provide the next generation of services to disseminate data from multiple sources to NGA users.

The integration of all the commercial data sources into the National System for Geospatial Intelligence will help warfighters and the intelligence analysts with a wide range of new and improved geospatial intelligence products.
