A Brazilian regional airline has received the first of five Embraer 175 E-jets.

The jets will fly on the TRIP Linhas Aéreas new route network in sync with existing turboprop aircraft between Rio de Janeiro and other regions of Brazil.

The contact includes options for ten more aircraft and purchase rights for another 15.

The Embraer 175, part of the Embraer 170/190 family, is a single-aisle regional aircraft that has a range of up to 2,000nm and a seating capacity of 78 to 88 passengers.

The jets, configured to a single-class layout, will add to the airline’s present fleet of two Embraer 175s.

The National Social Development Bank and the Bank of Brazil are jointly financing the purchase.
