The US Air Force has pulled its F-22 fighter jet from this month’s Paris Air Show, amidst speculation that rival air forces would use the show to get a closer glimpse of the technology, Reuters reports.

A spokesman for Lockheed Martin, the aircraft’s builder, Christopher Trippick, said that the aircraft would not make an appearance due to other demands on its time.

The US has blocked the sale of the F-22 fighter jet to other countries, including allies Japan.

The new Obama administration announced only four more orders of the aircraft in April capping the production of the F-22 at 187 planes.

The F-22 is a stealth fighter, capable of evading radar and is seen as the premier fighter jet of the US Air Force.
