Agusta Westland, a Finmeccanica company, has signed a contract to sell two AW139 helicopters and two optional aircraft to Egypt’s Petroleum Air Services (PAS).

The two helicopters will support offshore oil and gas operations for PAS, thus creating a presence in the Egyptian market and the Mediterranean area. The buy is a part of the company’s plan to modernise its fleet of medium twin-engine helicopters.

The AW139 has a large cabin and baggage area allowing space for 12-15 passengers. Apart from offshore transport, it can be used for emergency medical services, search and rescue missions, executive / VIP transport and government roles.

Petroleum Air Services (PAS) is an Egyptian aviation services company.
