NetJets has placed a $2.8bn business aircraft order with Bombardier Aerospace for 50 Global business jets with options for an additional 70 Global aircraft.

The total value of the transaction will exceed $6.7bn if all options are exercised.

The firm order includes 30 Global 5000 Vision and Global Express XRS Vision aircraft, as well as 20 Bombardier Global 7000 and Global 8000 jets.

NetJets president Jordan Hansell said the Global aircraft family meet the aircraft operators requirements for range, reliability, interior comfort and operating efficiency.

The deliveries of the Global Vision aircraft is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2012 and the deliveries of the remaining aircraft will begin in 2017.

The corporate aircraft unit of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, currently operates a fleet of over 800 aircraft worldwide.
