Swiss aerospace manufacturer Pilatus has launched the new PC-12 NGX aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6E-67XP turboprop engine.

The aircraft was unveiled at the National Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas.

The new PT6E-Series engine offers a dual-channel integrated electronic propeller and engine control system. It features an electronic propeller and engine control system, including Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC).

In addition to the improved engine, the PC-12 NGX features a cabin with larger windows and interiors designed by BMW Designworks. The new propeller’s low-speed mode reduces the cabin noise.

The PC-12 NGX can cruise at a maximum speed of 537km/h.

It is also equipped with Advanced Cockpit Environment (ACE) System developed by Honeywell, as well as a touchscreen cursor control device, Prist-free fuel operation and a digital autothrottle that reduces pilot workload.

Pilatus CEO Markus Bucher said: “We are excited to reveal the new PC-12 NGX today. To maintain the PC-12’s leadership in the general aviation marketplace, we continuously seek innovative solutions, which benefit the safety, comfort and productivity of our customers.

“The PC-12 NGX is a showcase for the advanced technology collaboration between Pilatus, Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Honeywell. Together, we took the best and made it even better. What’s more, our customers do not have to wait years into the future to enjoy these benefits, the PC-12 NGX is here today.”

Deliveries of the certified PC-12 NGX are expected to start from the second quarter of next year.
