Colombia’s national flag carrier Avianca Airlines has selected aviation business intelligence company PASSUR Aerospace to support its ‘2021 Transformation Strategy’.

Under this contract, PASSUR’s portfolio of services will mainly help the airline achieve operational efficiency.

PASSUR’s team will evaluate constraints, inefficiencies and challenges in the existing Traffic Flow Management environment.

The team will also focus on enhancing operational indicators such as on-time performance, asset/aircraft utilisation, capacity growth and hub optimisation and more.

Experts from PASSUR’s Business Intelligence and Solution Architect teams will deliver the services to the airline.

Avianca Holdings CEO and president Anko van der Werff said: “We are focused on our transformation strategy; on being competitive and profitable while we strengthen service standards; and on operational optimisation, beginning with the El Dorado Hub operation.

“PASSUR comes to us as with a strong track record in the industry for improving airline performance by understanding how to optimise and harmonise the interplay between airline, airport, and air traffic control factors.”

PASSUR’s professional capabilities fall under a wider portfolio of services offered to Avianca by Accenture and its wholly owned subsidiary Seabury Consulting and Corporate Advisory.

PASSUR president and CEO Jim Barry said: “We are looking forward to working with Avianca to rapidly achieve several of the airline’s important objectives.

“In combination with Accenture/Seabury, we are bringing a highly differentiated capability to help airlines grow profitably by extracting the greatest efficiencies from existing capacity and infrastructure.”
