US-based Skyward has unveiled a new information management solution for commercial drone operators.

Said to be the first-of-its-kind, the cloud-based solution allows operators to track specific information and airspace data for business, insurance or regulatory requirements.

Skyward CEO Jonathan Evans said: "In the last year, I’ve seen the commercial drone market evolve rapidly, with over 1,400 FAA grants to date.

"Skyward gives those operators comprehensive tools to access the sky and meet their business objectives."

" Skyward gives operators comprehensive tools to access the sky and meet their business objectives."

The solution is being used by more than 150 operators in the US, Canada, Caribbean, Australia, and South Africa for applications, including agriculture, industrial inspection, construction, oil and gas surveying, real estate, and cinematography.

Skyward features a drone airspace map, which simplifies aviation rules to show operators where to fly, flight planning and logging, that can be configured for specific requirements, and a digital system of record to manage personnel, drones, and equipment.

It also facilitates online storage for regulatory, insurance, and operational documents, and is supported by regulatory and operational experts for approvals, compliance and reporting, Skyward said.

Commercial-grade drone solutions provider Hawk Aerial CEO Kevin Gould said: "Hawk Aerial needs a system to schedule, track and document our flight operations.

"Skyward is that system: comprehensive, easy to use, intuitive. Skyward allows us to conform to the requirements of our 333 and COAs, and also provides critical operating data to track performance and profitably run our business."
