Namibia Air has signed a contract with Airbus to buy a pair of Airbus A319-100 aircraft for $90m.

Namibia’s national carrier plans to replace its Boeing fleet with Airbus jets as part of a cost-cutting strategy, according to newera.com/na.

The new planes are expected to join the Namibia Air fleet in 2014.

The Namibian Government is planning to invest roughly N$1.2bn ($148m) on the struggling airline under its three-year rolling budget of 2012-14.
