Cessna CJ

Cessna Aircraft has unveiled its CJ3+, a new business jet variant in its Cessna CJ series.

CJ3+ features Garmin G3000 avionics suite, interiors with a redesigned cabin and cockpit, new pressurisation, and diagnostics systems.

The G3000 avionics features include turbulence detecting weather radar, TCAS II, terrain awareness warning systems (TAWS), a wireless media server, Garmin integrated cockpit and cabin Iridium phone, and high-speed internet capabilities from Aircell.

The aircraft incorporates automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) capabilities, and complies with next generation (NextGen) air traffic control requirements.

Deliveries of CJ3+ are expected to commence after FAA certification, which is expected be awarded during the second half of this year.

"Combining all these avionics features with a fresh new interior and other significant upgrades strengthens an already powerful jet."

With a seating capacity for nine passengers, the aircraft is expected to attain single-pilot certification.

Cessna Aircraft sales and marketing senior vice-president Kriya Shortt said that the CJ3+ has been developed through listening to clients’ needs.

"Customers are already pleased with the CJ-series, but they also appreciate the new features of the G3000 system," Shortt said.

"Combining all these avionics features with a fresh new interior and other significant upgrades strengthens an already powerful jet and makes its value proposition even more compelling for customers."

Cessna has designed, manufactured and delivered more than 6,600 Citation series business jets to date.
