Bombardier Aerospace has received a new firm order for an additional three CS300 aircraft from an existing undisclosed customer.

The new order is worth about $228m, based on the list prices of the aircraft.

Bombardier’s new CSeries aircraft family, designed for the 100 to 149-seat market, is equipped with Pratt & Whitney PurePower PW1500G engines, and offers a 15% cash operating cost advantage and a 20% fuel burn improvement.

According to the company, the CS300 has the extra capacity seating option offers airlines an average of 4% additional cash operating cost advantage per seat.

"As of today, we have more than ten aircraft in various stages of testing and production, and together with the key components being manufactured at our partner sites for aircraft that follow, the CSeries aircraft programme is progressing steadily," Arcamome added.

Including the new order, Bombardier has secured orders and commitments for 445 CSeries aircraft, which include firm orders for 201 CSeries jets.
