Airbus HElicopters EC 150

Airbus Helicopters Vostok has been awarded a contract by the Moscow Health Department for delivery of two EC145 medical helicopters for deployment with the Scientific and Practical Centre of Emergency Medicine.

Due for delivery in 2015, both helicopters will be configured for air ambulance service operations in Moscow and will be integrated with an oxygen tank, resuscitator and defibrillator, as well as with a reanimation complex and neonatal intensive treatment.

Airbus Helicopters Vostok general manager Laurence Rigolini said: "Our EC145 has already been very successful as a medical helicopter in Moscow, with three operated by Moscow Aviation Centre, saving around 600 lives each year.

"The Airbus Helicopters story in Russia actually started with a medical helicopter we delivered for the EMERCOM back in 2006, and we are very happy that our products have remained the backbone of the local medevac fleet over these years."

Powered by two Turbomeca Arriel1E2 engines and a latest hingeless rotor, the EC145 multi-purpose helicopter offers space for transportation of up to two patients on stretchers and associated medical personnel with all required emergency equipment.

With its worldwide deliveries exceeding a total of 650 units, the medical version of EC145 accounts for about 30%.

Airbus Helicopter claims that the EC145 offers enhanced performance and required power reserves even in one-engine-inoperative circumstances.
