EC145 T2

Airbus Helicopters’ EC145 T2, a variant of the company’s EC145 rotorcraft family, has secured European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification, which will allow customer deliveries to begin later this year.

Certification includes the complete range of capabilities such as single-pilot and instrument flight rules (IFR) and single engine operations (Cat.A/VTOL), as well as night-vision goggle capability.

Airbus Helicopters CEO Guillaume Faury said the EC145 T2 features a design to meet and exceed the latest challenging requirements of our customers for mission capability.

"Our operators will benefit from an unrivalled operational advantage thanks to the perfect combination of airframe, equipment and performance," Faury added.

Twenty EC145 T2 rotorcraft are currently in series production, with Airbus Helicopters having received orders and options for more than 100 EC145 T2s, along with 15 military EC645 T2 version for the German Army.

Powered with Arriel 2E engines, the T2 version of the 4t category EC145 features the company’s signature Fenestron shrouded tail rotor that offers improved flight and ground safety, as well as upgraded main and new tail rotor gear boxes.

The Fenestron technology also offers enhanced anti-torque control efficiency, reduced power demand in forward flight, along with lower noise and vibration levels.

It also features an advanced cockpit that uses Airbus Helicopter’s Helionix digital avionics suite with four-axis autopilot.

The EC145 T2 is equipped with the Helionix avionics that offers enhanced in-flight envelope protection, pilot assistance and situational awareness for improved flight safety levels.
