Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) has entered an agreement to lease five Embraer aircraft, including three E195s and two E175s, to Belarus-based carrier Belavia-Belarusian Airlines.

Delivery of two E195 and one Е175 aircraft is scheduled to take place by April next year, while the remaining two aircraft are expected to be delivered in December 2019 and April 2020.

Following delivery, the aircraft are set to help the airline meet its fleet growth initiative, as well as implement a growth strategy and ensure cost-effective development.

With the new aircraft, Belavia-Belarusian Airlines will have a total of 12 Embraer E-Jets in its fleet.

“The additional aircraft is in line with the enlargement of Belavia’s flight frequency network in order to satisfy passengers’ demand.”

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines general director Anatoly Gusarov said: “The medium-haul passenger aircraft, Embraer 175 and Embraer 195, are placed between a capacious Boeing-737 and a small CRJ in the Belavia fleet.

“The additional aircraft is in line with the enlargement of Belavia’s flight frequency network in order to satisfy passengers’ demand.”

Belavia-Belarusian Airlines currently operates a mixed fleet of 26 aircraft, including Boeing 737-800, 737-500, and 737-300, Embraer 175 / 195, and Bombardier CRJ100 / 200 jets.

Currently, NAC has a fleet of more than 400 owned and managed aircraft, featuring ATR 42, ATR 72, Bombardier Dash 8, CRJ1000, CS300, E170, and E195 planes.

Last month, the company acquired and leased back four Bombardier CRJ900s aircraft to Ireland-based regional airline CityJet.

The new aircraft will be operated by Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and will feature SAS livery and CityJet staff.
