India-based carrier Jet Airways has placed a new order with Boeing for the purchase of 75 new single-aisle 737 MAX aircraft.

The order has brought the airline’s total number of MAX airplanes to 150 units.

Jet Airways placed an order for 75 MAX planes in 2015 as part of a strategy to renew its existing fleet with modern and more environmentally friendly airplanes.

The aircraft are also set to allow the airline to expand its network on new routes.

Jet Airways CEO Vinay Dube said: “Our new order for the additional 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft will allow us to deliver a differentiated and world-class customer experience to our guests.
